OCT 27, 2003 (newstodate): Pending the completion of an ongoing market analysis, SAS Cargo will intensify its focus on the Baltic and East European markets.
-We have assessed the individual markets in the region as the basis of a new offensive strategy to meet the demands in the East European and Baltic markets, says Marianne Hurtig, SAS Cargo area cargo manager Central and Eastern Europe.
-While potentials are attractive in many of the countries surveyed, Poland certainly stands out as the single largest market with a population of some 40 million people, a strong industrial infrastructure, and booking trade figures, she says.
SAS Cargo currently operates a freighter service, in cooperation with DHL Aviation, from Copenhagen Airport to Riga and Vilnius, but Hurtig does not rule out new services to be announced as the new strategy has been confirmed by SAS Cargo's top leadership
