OCT 15, 2003 (newstodate): From the 1st quarter 2004, a new low-cost carrier plans to enter the Swedish market.
Current plans include flights on routes from Stockholm to Malmo and Gothenburg cutting around 50 percent off the current price levels.
The Swedish company Array stands behind the plans by acquiring shares in FlyMe Sweden AB, based in Gothenburg and currently under construction.
After the acquisition, Array will hold 47 percent of FlyMe's shares, FlyMe's current owners will retain 29 percent, and new owners after an emission of shares in Array will hold the remaining portfolio.
From the outset, FlyMe's fleet of aircraft will comprise four Boeing 737s.
FlyMe plans to add Scandinavian and European flights after the initial build-up of domestic lines in Sweden.
FlyMe's application for a Swedish AOC will be decided upon by the authorities by December.
