OCT 16, 2003 (newstodate): Under the new brand name, Lufthansa Regional, the cooperation between Lufthansa and its regional partners Air Dolomiti, Augsburg Airways, Contact Air, Eurowings and Lufthansa CityLine has been reorganized.
The aim of the re-branding is to provide passengers in the regional segment with an enhanced program of direct flights and smooth transfer connections.
According to a Lufhansa release, the daily volume of transfer passengers, who travel with Lufthansa's regional partners, equals the volume of 19 full jumbo jets.
Among the Lufthansa Regional-airlines serving Eastern Europe, Augsburg Airways and Contact Air operate at Budapest and Prague, Eurowings flies into Budapest, Katowice, Prague, Warsaw and Wroclaw, while Lufthansa CityLine operates at Budapest, Katowice, Kiev, Prague, Sarajevo, Warsaw, and Zagreb.
