OCT 13, 2003 (newstodate): In September, Lufthansa Cargo was down by three percent in cargo and mail volumes, to 132,000 tonnes.
For the period January-September, the decline was 4.4 percent, to 1,154,000 tonnes.
The cargo load factor was also down in September, to 63.9, while it was 64.1 during January-September.
Of the total volumes carried in September, European, including domestic, routes generated 57,000 tonnes, traffic in North and South America contributed 32,000 tonnes, Asia & Pacific routes generated 34,000 tonnes, while Africa and the Near East generated 8,000 tonnes of cargo and mail.
Only Africa and the Near East increased in volumes during September, up 9.9 percent, while all other regions were in the red.
The volumes over the North and South Atlantic fell the most,down 5.5 percent in September
