OCT 20, 2003 (newstodate): In September, cargo volumes at Gothenburg Airport regained breath after a consistent downward period in 2003.
Thus, total volumes were up by three percent, to 5,212 tonnes including exports, up 10 percent to 2,603 tonnes, and imports, down two percent to 2,674 tonnes.
For the period January-September, the total volumes at Gothenburg Airport dropped six percent to 37,014 tonnes, with imports unchanged, and export down 12 percent.
The increase in September reflects the start of Finnair Cargo/Emirates cargo's operations from September 13, and Polar Air's implementation from September 3 of its new flight to Liege in addition to the company's two weekly nonstop freighters to the USA.
