OCT 14, 2003 (newstodate): Ezycargo, the Internet-based portal initiated by Singapore Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific Cargo, Japan Airlines Cargo and Qantas Freigh, plans to go live in Australia next month, followed by Japan in December.
Ezycargo is already active in Hong Kong and Singapore since September.
-In other parts of the world, we will work with other service providers for the distribution of Ezycargo. We are close to sealing agreements with several of these business partners already, Paul Tam, Global Logistics System (HK) COO, told a business paper.
Monthly basic user charge is HKD 400, to which should be added usual separate charges for many of the transactions and bookings.
Ezycargo thus claims to be significantly cheaper as to subscriptions and use than competing systems, notably GF-X.
The Singapore-based CCN and Hong Kong's GLSHK are currently negotiating with other airlines and forwarders to join, but currently refuse to identify any new parties.
