OCT 28, 2003 (newstodate): Taking effect from October 27, China Airlines and Alitalia have signed a code-share agreement on flights between Taipei and Rome via Bangkok.
Initially the code-share service will comprise three weekly flights, operated by China Airlines using an A340-300 aircraft, and will increase to four weekly flights from November 17, pending government approval.
China Airlines inaugurated its Taipei-Rome service with two weekly flights in 1995. In March 2002 the frequency was increased to three flights per week. In August 2003, the stop in Abu Dhabi was moved to Bangkok, and China Airlines can pick up and carry passengers on all sectors of the route.
