OCT 06, 2003 (newstodate): Alitalia has joined SkyTeam members Air France Cargo, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air in the US Cargo Sales Joint Venture, launched in 2001.
-In a competitive market, like ours, alliances and agreements with other carriers are essential in order to offer a more complete product and network portfolio to fully satisfy customer demand. This is why Alitalia Cargo has chosen to join the U. S. Cargo Sales Joint Venture, says Massimo Panagia, Managing Director, Alitalia cargo.
-The combined freighter capabilities of Alitalia, Air France and Korean Air, along with the extensive lower deck lift provided by Delta Air Lines, gives this cargo joint venture a wide range of strategic options as well as marketing abilities, Panagia says.
