OCT 30, 2003 (newstodate): Earlier this month, Air Atlantic Icelandic has taken in its seventh B747-200SF.
-The aircraft, built in 1987, entered service with Cathay Pacific Cargo on October 11, on a wet lease contract until December 18 with a 60 day extension period, which would take it until February 18 to start with. We are operating on the Cathay Pacific Cargo network, serving the Hong Kong-Dubai-Frankfurt-Dubai-Hong Kong route, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Air Atlanta Icelandic president & CEO.
-The aircraft, formerly registered as G-BDXN, is the third sister ship, B747-236SF RB211-524D4 powered converted freighter in our fleet. The other four B747-200SFs are all CF6-50E2 powered, ex-Lufthansa Cargo aircraft, Hafsteinsson says.
