Copenhagen, JAN 15, 2003: With a total of 4,561 vehicles sold and a market share at 38 percent, Volvo became the largest player in the market for heavy trucks (over 16 tons) in the Nordic region in 2002.
Volvos market share was 30.7 percent in Denmark, 33.8 in Finland, 36.6 in Norway, and 46.1 percent in Sweden, securing an undisputed top rating. The market share actually increased in all four Nordic markets.
Besides, Volvo was also the largest Nordic brand for medium-heavy trucks (10-16 tons) with a market share at 38.3 percent.
