Copenhagen, JAN 29, 2003 (newstodate): Singapore Airlines Cargo plans to add two more destinations in China, starting from this summer's traffic programme in April.
The two destinations are Xiamen and Nanjing, to be served thrice weekly out of Singapore.
At Xiamen, 4,700 foreign companies had invested a total of USD 20 billion by the end of 2001, making it a highly potent economic area that in 2002 generated 28,000 tonnes of export airfreight (up 137 percent), and 11,200 tonnes of import airfreight (up 49 percent).
Nanjing is East China's second largest business center, with local manufacturing of Ericsson, Nokia, Philips, Siemens and many other international brands.
In China, SIA already serves Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as Hong Kong and Macau
