Jul 06, 2018 (newstodate): China's CAAC is still considering an application by Tibet Airlines for start of commercial scheduled services between Jinan, in China's Shandong Province, and Helsinki.
The mayor of Jinan City has told media that the city is targeting eight to 10 new international air services within three to five years including passenger services to Helsinki, France and Germany in 2018.
Actually, the launch of services to Helsinki from Jinan was earlier slated for March 21018 already, but this obviously did not go through.
Tibet Airlines operates a fleet comprising 24 Airbus aircraft including three Airbus A330-200.
Another Chinese airline, the HNA Group subsidiary Lucky Air also applied to CAAC for rights to open a route from Kunming to Helsinki in 2018, scheduled for start of operations from January 17, 2018 - which also did not happen..
