Sep 17, 2018 (newstodate): Tajikistan's privately-owned carrier Somon Air plans to expand its fleet with a new aircraft type for domestic and regional flights.
The president of Embraer is in Dushanbe to negotiate with Somon Air for delivery of eight Embraer E190 E2 aircraft in 2019-21.
Talks include negotiations over financing that will be provided through the export-credit bank of Brazil as financial leasing.
The airline started operating on February 5, 2008, and is now operating flights to destinations in Uzbekistan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, with a fleet comprising seven aircraft including two Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-800, two Boeing 737-900ER and one Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
