Sep 13, 2017 (newstodate): Cargo volumes at Finland's Helsinki Airport showed a sustained drop in August 2017.
A total of 15,335 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a decrease by 3.2 percent, y-o-y, following a month where volumes actually were unchanged against the preceding year.
The decrease in August 2017 was caused by a 2.1 drop in international cargo volumes to 14,657 tonnes, while mail volumes were also down by 4.6 percent to 625 tonnes.
During the first eight months of this year, the airport's total cargo volumes stand at 122,591 tonnes, only 1.4 percent up on last year.
