Jun 21, 2017 (newstodate): A sales team from Boeing has visited Tajikistan's Somon Air for a presentation of the Boeing 737 MAX.
And it may well pay off nicely: the carrier is mulling plans for acquisition of two aircraft of this type, adding to its existing fleet comprising two Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
Based at Dushanbee Airport, the carrier now operates flights on a route network spanning destinations primarily in Russia and CIS but also the Gulf region and China.
The carrier performed its first commercial flight on February 5, 2008, opening up with services to Moscow and later, on July 29, 2009, adding services to Frankfurt, Germany, as its first flight into Europe, where Aircargonet International is serving Somon Air as its cargo GSSA.
