Jun 23, 2016 (newstodate): After a suspense by 24 years, a Serb aircraft has again established direct non-stop air connection between Belgrade and New York.
With the launch of services on the new route connecting Serbia and the USA, Air Serbia is now offering five weekly rotations on the route with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
With the new route, Air Serbia will focus its efforts on enhancing the awareness in the US market of Air Serbia's capabilities to transfer passengers between the Transatlantic flight and its European route network to locate Belgrade as an efficient transfer hub.
Air Serbia will also capitalize on the fast that it will be the only national carrier in the region to offer connectivity to North America.
Serbia was downgraded from Category 1 in 2002, barring any service by a Serbia-registered aircraft carrier into North American airports and only won its crucial Category 1 ranking by FAA in a revision on June 27, 2014 of the Aviation Safety Program.
Also in March 215, Serbia and the USA agreed on a new Bilateral Air Service Agreement removing the final obstacle to the introduction of Se3rb flights into North America.
