Apr 29, 2016 (newstodate): Poland's Warsaw Chopin Airport saw its cargo volumes up by no less than 14 percent in Q1, 2016.
A total of 14,652 tonnes of international cargo was handled at the airport, in addition to 130 tonnes of domestic cargo, which was an increase by 13.7 and 3.19 percent, y-o-y, respectively.
International cargo included 6,366 tonnes of exports, down 5.5 percent, and 8,266 tonnes of imports, up 20.9 percent, y-o-y.
The largest cargo destinations in terms of volume carried included Cologne with 2,500 tonnes, Leipzig 2,200 tonnes, Dubai 1,800 tonnes, New York 1,300 tonnes and Chicago with 1,000 tonnes.
The largest cargo carrier at the airport was LOT with 4,873 tonnes but down 8.6 percent, while #2 UPS was growing the steepest with 1,332 tonnes - an increase by 112 percent, y-o-y.
