Oct 09, 2015 (newstodate): In September 2015, Finnair Cargo's total volumes transported were down 14 percent, y-o-y, to 10,938 tonnes.
The comparison with September 2014 is not one-to-one, however, as Finnair stopped own MD-11 freighter services from the end of December 2014, while the company is now sharing a twice-weekly Airbus A300-600 freighter aircraft from DHL Aviation with its IAG partner from September 15, 2015, between Helsinki and London Luton Airport.
Cargo on freighter flights was thus down 45.9 percent, y-o-y, in September, to 1,341 tonnes.
Loads on the crucial Asian routes dropped 5.9 percent to 6,961 tonnes, and loads in Europe were also down 13.5 percent to 1,756 tonnes.
On the positive side, loads on N American flights increased by 9.3 percent to 712 tonnes.
In the first nine months of this year, Finnair Cargo has transported 95,391 tonnes of cargo which is 15.1 percent below levels in 2014,
